Typical Calendar

The typical study year in the University of Wuppertal in general and on the CSiS Master´s Programme is following:

Winter semester: from October 1^st to March 31^st

• Block course on Mathematical Foundations: first two weeks of October*
• Regular studies for the 1^st semester students: from the next week after the Block course
• Regular studies for the 3^rd semester students: from the beginning of the semester (First working week after October 1^st)
• Exam on Block course: end of October (1^st attempt), end of November (2^nd attempt)
• Christmas holidays: end of December – beginning of January
• Lecture period ends in the beginning of February and exam session starts right after and goes until the end of March

Summer semester: from April 1^st to September 30^th

• Regular studies for the 2^nd semester students: from the mid April
• Lecture period ends in mid-July and exam session starts right after and goes until the end of September

Other dates:

• Application period in uni-assist: from November 15^th until March 31^st
• Regular deadline for coming to Wuppertal: October 1^st (start of studies)
• Last deadline for coming to Wuppertal: October 31^st*

* If you did not get your visa on time, you need to inform us about this. In this case you are allowed to defer the start of your studies by one year. Deadline for informing us is September 15^th

Timetables for Winter Semester 2025/2026

Block Course Timetable - Block Course finished on October 17th, 2025.

1st Semester Timetable - Updated on November 13th, 2025.

For CSiS beginners the semester start on October 6th, 2025 in presence format with a two-week block course on mathematical foundations. 
The mathematical basics repeated in the course are a prerequisite for the CSiS degree programme.
The regular start of lectures is on Monday, October 20th, 2025.

 

3rd Semester Timetable  - Updated on November 7th, 2025.

The start of lectures for students in the 3rd semester is Monday, October 13th, 2025.

 

To all CSiS students:
Information on the lectures and courses can be found on StudiLöwe and under the respective Moodle courses. Please go to the Moodle website and register for all courses in your winter semester timetable.
In order to register on Moodle, you must already be enrolled at the University of Wuppertal. Once you are registered for your courses, your professors and tutors will provide you with all relevant course information.
