How do I start?

Lectures Timetable for the Winter Semester 2026/2027

The studies begin from the Block course on mathematical foundation. It is an essential part of the curriculum, which is intended to proof your bachelor´s knowledge and your abilities to continue with more complicated studies.

Block Course on Mathematical Foundations

In the winter semester 2026/2027 the Block Course begins online before the start of semester. 

To begin with the Block Course, you get the access to the digital Moodle-platform with all materials. You need to follow the link below and click "Anmelden als Gast" (Access as a guest). There you will find all explanations, videos and exercises.

For each chapter you will find a separate section with lecture materials. Furthermore in between those sections, there are 9 Exercise Sheets included. These sheets contain small exercises, covering the topics. Those exercises prepare you for the examination.

NOTE: we will post new materials during the September, and I will send you reminder e-mails about the update, so you can learn the topics step-by-step.

Additionally, there will be three Zoom-meetings, where you can ask questions:

Pre-arrival online sessions

Pre-arrival online-sessions will take place throughout September and October 2026 to provide all new students the necessary information regarding different aspects of their future student´s life in the University of Wuppertal.

CSiS Welcome Meeting

The traditional CSiS Welcome Meeting is organized on the first regular lecture by Prof. Francesco Knechtli together with the representatives of the International Office and Student´s Council.

Here all new CSiS students can ask about the study process, registration, everyday life and other aspects of their stay and studies in the University of Wuppertal.

In winter semester 2026/2027 the Welcome Meeting is planned on October 12^th, 2026, at 10:00 in the room D.10.08.
