Formal Requirements for Applicants with non-German Bachelor Degree

1. Bachelor degree in Applied Science, Business Mathematics, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Safety Engineering or a related field.The regular length of the Bachelor study should be of at least 6 semesters and should correspond to at least 180 ECTS credits and with a grade of (or equivalent to ) at least 3.0 after rounding down to the first decimal place in the German ranking system.


2. Sufficiently good proficiency in English, documented by providing the results of a recently passed language certificate from one of the certificates listed  below:

- TOEFL2 iBT (internet-based) with at least 79 points or

- TOEFL Essentials (internet-based) with at least 8.0 score or

- IELTS test, academic module with at least 6.0 band score or

- Cambrigde English Qualification  with at least 173 points or certifcate in B2 First, C1 Advanced, C2 Proficiency,
   B2 Business Vantage or C1 Business Higher or

- PTE (Pearson Test of English) Academic with at least 67 points or

- telc English B2/C1 university or

- NULTE certificate B2.

All certificates must not be older than two years at the time of enrolment.

Only graduated BSc students from Australia, UK, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand, USA do not need to provide a B2 language certificate.

All other BSc graduates must provide the B2 English language certificate according to the requirements on our website even if the BSc programme was taught in English.

Exception:
The English language requirement "medium of instruction in English" is accepted for international students who got an admission for winter term 2024/25 and who had to defer their admission by one year to winter term 2025/26.

 

Formal Requirements for Applicants with German Bachelor Degree:

1. Bachelor degree in Applied Science, Business Mathematics,Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Safety Engineering or a related field. The regular length of the Bachelor study should be of at least 6 semesters and should correspond to at least 180 ECTS credits and with a grade of (or equivalent to ) at least 3.0 after rounding down to the first decimal place in the German ranking system.

2. Knowledge of the English language at the level B2 from the above mentioned language certificates. This can also be proven by the certificate of the Abitur.
